As reported by the media, the female lead of the upcoming MBC weekend drama “Good Job”, Myung Se Bin, has quit her role due to deteriorating health. As such, the production team has been actively trying to find a replacement and in the end decided for Chae Rim to play the female lead character Lee Kang Joo.
This will be the third time that Chae Rim is making a collaboration with writer Park Ji Hyun. Previous cooperation includes “Loving You” and “All About Eve” back in 1999 and 2000 respectively.
The drama producer said: “The optimistic and healthy image portrayed by Chae Rim makes her very suitable for playing the leading role Lee Kang Joo, an unwed mother who is able to face her true feelings in front of love. I’m anticipating her performance here.”
In regards to this, Chae Rim said: “As an actress, this is a very difficult decision to make. To tell the truth, I’m a little afraid, but because I have worked with the writer(teacher) in the past and they yielded positive results, as long as the writer needs me, I will participate even if I can only contribute a little. I think this is the basic ethic of an actor. In addition, the enthusiasm of the production team and charm of the character were also the factors that influenced my final decision.”
As a Korean actress that enjoys a high popularity in China, Chae Rim had previously intended to take on a Chinese drama, but because of this project, her schedule would have to be adjusted accordingly. MBC “Good Job” will replace “My Life’s Golden Age” and is scheduled to air beginning mid March.
